If you dream of a place with serenity that encourages well-being with a side of productivity…
Welcome to The Sanctuary.
Milford got its name in 1911, but it’s been a mill town since the mid 1700s. Nestled next to the Delaware, it’s maintained its historic small town charm through the centuries.
The Sanctuary was built after the roaring twenties, when the paper industry moved in and built a booming factory at its outskirts bringing executives and their families to the area in need of housing.
The architectural details of The Sanctuary echo that era and although the factory closed some years ago, those of us who have lived here long enough still recall the sound of the morning bell or the train whistle announcing its arrival at their loading dock, with fondness.
Life at The Sanctuary
Peace and productivity find their intersection here, with creativity all around evidenced by paintings, art mediums, and vintage cameras atop vintage hand painted furniture, but paired with perfect organization in every room so you’ll quickly know where everything is, making your life more efficient and streamlined…is anything more zen than that?
Sanctuary Ethos
Earth-conscious, health-loving, and habit-free with an optimistic-realist approach to life. Functionally speaking this means leaving things as, or better, than you found them, whether it’s the planet, a hiking path, the kitchen, or a person.
